Volunteer Your Time
Educational Development Group is a not-for-profit agency that specializes in teaching English to Boston area immigrants. We are are currently seeking volunteers for our Accelerated Plus Program, - a program especially designed for newly arrived immigrants. The goal of this program is to give these new immigrants the opportunity to quickly develop their language skills so they can access employment and/or educational opportunities. We need volunteers to help students master the vocabulary and grammar points learned in classes.
•Teach English Language Skills and Cultural Awareness
•Teach Computer Skills
•Help students practice interview skills and search for Jobs
•Give administrative support during assessment and evaluation weeksIn addition, we need volunteers to help us plan and run cultural immersion activities, field trips to museums and libraries, and to help in the office and assist teachers.
Volunteers are needed any day, Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 12:00 noon and/or from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Training will be provided.
